We bring to your school a 180 minute museum quality educational experience that aligns with Common Core Next Generation Science Standards. In six breakout 30 minute rotational sessions students learn through hands on activities and demonstrations. Our field trips are designed for K-8th grade. Content can be tailored for grade level experiences.

Age of Mammals: Students learn about 1) Using fossil replicas of dinosaurs, reptiles and mammals, students learn about who survived the great extinction event and why 2) Using fossil replicas students investigate species diversity and adaption and climate change 3) Visit a Prehistoric Human camp and discover the tools and weapons used in their survival 4) Sharpen your charcoal! Students will review actual cave and prehistoric drawings. Learn about the materials used, significance of the scenes depicted and create their own cave art using the same materials and techniques! 5&6 are combined) experience our live stage show and meet different mammals in, The Ice Age Encounters Show with Amka the Mammoth! K-8th grade.

STREAM Encounters

The Science Behind The Lewis and Clark Expedition: Students learn about 1) How to navigate with a compass, calculate distance traveled and create a map like Lewis and Clark 2) Review the Lewis and Clark map, Native American maps and Landsat images to understand how both natural and man-made phenomena have impacted the same expedition route along the Missouri River 3) Conduct engineering experiments testing boat hull designs and water displacement. Strap on an Oculus Go and take a 360 degree tour on an exact replica of the Lewis and Clark Keelboat 4) Visit a historically accurate Lakota camp and learn about the ingenuity and resourcefulness of Native American transportation and everyday living at the time of Lewis & Clark 5) Work together with their classmates and set up an actual 13 ft Lakota Tipi 6) Learn about the materials used in the Native American Art and design and paint their own parfleche using earth pigments, bone brushes and natural glue.

Mars Encounters

(Coming this Fall) Experience the Red Planet: Students learn about 1) The solar system with our life size Ornery 2) Build a model rocket and learn about propulsion systems that will take us to Mars 3) Feel what it would be like to walk on Mars in our 40% gravity chair, 4) Experiment with various construction materials to build a prototype shelter suitable for living on Mars 5) Play in the dirt and compare and contrast Earth soil with Martian regolith. Learn what it will take to grow food on the red planet, 6) Meet Destiny our ΒΌ size Mars rover and simulate the scientific research conducted on Mars.

Dino Encounters

The First 4.3 Billion Years: Students learn about: 1) Geological time periods, Earth's origin, rock formations and cycle, 2) early invertebrates and their anatomy. 3) fossil types- students craft three representations to keep 4) early vertebrates, land plants differences between reptiles, dinosaurs and mammals and extinction events, 5 &6 combined) experience our live stage show and meet five different dinosaurs from the Cretaceous period in, The Dino Encounters Show with Rocky the Trex!
